the site is located between old town and university in a strand of middle sized buildings connecting the small houses of the old town to the huge university buildings. thus three volumes are chosen instead of one.

however, an institute calls for a unity, and hence the three individual volumes are connected by a platform.

underneath the platform the open spaces belonging to the great hall and the lecture rooms is arranged, above the platform there is a square connecting the three buildings. there is also a connection between the square and the space beneath via a courtyard and big flight of stairs connects the square and the institute to the town.
